Here we find a representation of the Jewish calendar as it appeared during Jesus’ ministry. It begins with the day the Passover lamb is set aside and inspected for blemishes, according to the Law of Moses. Normally, this means the lamb is inspected for five days and then sacrificed on Passover day in the same month of the calendar year. However, in the case of Jesus, he was set aside on the 10th of the first month, when he declared the Temple unclean in AD 28. He would then be inspected for blemishes from that time until Passover day three years later, when he would become our Passover, when he was crucified. The Temple would then be cleansed by his blood in AD 31. However, according to the prophecy the actual cleansing would take place 2300 evenings and morning sacrifices later or when 1150 days were complete, which didn’t occur until Pentecost of AD 31. Thus, the representation in calendar form might be…

2300

The “2300 days” is counted from the 10th of the first month in AD 28 to the 9th of the 3rd month (Pentecost) of AD 31. They are actually 2300 evening and morning sacrifices or 1150 calendar days. Therefore, if, indeed, this calculation is correct and logical, as it pertains to Daniel’s prophecy, it is calculated with the annual Feasts of the Jews in mind (see Leviticus 23), as they pertain to the time of Jesus’ public ministry in the first century AD.
