Faith and Skepticism

From one point of view, in a world of radioactive dating and super computers it has become more and more difficult to defend one’s belief that there is a God. Yet, if this is so, it is also true that beneath the nearly universal acceptance of the Big Bang Theory and the Theory of Evolution lies a vast emptiness of proof. Imagination runs high, but proof is objectively absent but subjectively hopeful, vis-à-vis a matter of interpretation. The clash between believers and skeptics has become a war of words and what those words mean, while shunning any definition that would weaken the stronghold of either worldview. Who is correct, and can the average person on the street know and understand the truth in the fallout of the struggle for evidence?

I am just such an average person, so what I have to say is an image of my worldview. Of course, I’m biased, but I don’t believe I am so biased that I “will not” be corrected, if I’m made to see evidence that proves my worldview wrong. I believe I am open to the truth as it is unveiled before me. The studies below reflect a calm consideration of data I experienced as a reader or viewer of clashes between believers and skeptics. I prefer quiet, calm reflections on issues rather than the challenge of a live debate with someone who opposes my worldview, but I have debated with folks who disagreed with me, albeit through emails and comments to my studies, nothing like a live debate before a live audience (a scary prospect from where I sit). So, my hat is off to both sides who have the courage to publicly expose their worldview to the opposition.
