Studies in the Book of Daniel

I don’t remember how old I was when I first heard about Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, and Daniel’s interpretation of this gigantic figure of gold, silver, brass and iron, but I know that I was in awe of it all. Stories like this were very exciting to me as a child. I could say the same as an adult, as well, considering the fact that I’ve studied the events described in those stories, and I still find wonder in it all. Of course, I didn’t realize it at the time, considering my age and lack of knowledge about the book, but all the other prophecies in Daniel are about this prophecy, Nebuchadnezzar’s dream, with the possible exception of Nebuchadnezzar’s second dream (Daniel 4), but even its conclusion can be used to prove the certainty of the prophecy described in the figure Nebuchadnezzar saw in his first dream. All the other prophecies are more or less, magnifications of certain parts of the gigantic figure that Daniel described in chapter 2. So, all twelve chapters of Daniel can be described, saying they are about the rises of Daniel in royal courts of Babylon and Persia, which lend to the importance and certainty of the prophecies given through him about four empires which lead to the establishment of the Kingdom of God, and its effect upon the world and the kingdoms of men.
