Abraham to Isaac

A few years ago, I did a study on the life of Abrahm, vis-à-vis Abraham ~ God’s Model for the Believer, which, roughly, embraces the same scriptures in Genesis that I’ve restudied here, vis-à-vis Genesis 12 through 24. That study embraced 42 studies about the life of Abram/Abraham. This one includes a few more, 53 to be exact. The difference in the studies is perspective. My earlier study was to express Abraham as the Friend of God and depict him as someone a new believer should follow. This present study should also be considered as a help to do the will of God, but the studies are done in the perspective of what’s involved in changing one’s worldview.

This is important, because a person who comes to Christ must think differently from how he had always conducted himself prior to his coming to faith. How does that work? How does one hand over his life to the Lord, lock, stock and barrel and submit to him as one’s Lord? For all intents and purposes, prior to coming to Jesus, one had been living as though one had no lord, or one was lord over his own life and didn’t look to another to decide what to do or not to do in any given situation. Changing one’s worldview is not only a process, and it can be and often is a very traumatic matter to face and accept. What makes sense in life is important to everyone, so, if we begin to say this no longer makes ‘sense’, what do we replace it with, and how do we stop acting, according to our former lifestyle or worldview? It is from this perspective that I’ve done the study below. I hope it is as much a blessing to my reader as it has been for me to study and discover what the Lord says in his word.
